Release v1.0

Today is the day! What day, you may ask? The day when Pocket Planner v1.0 is released! This week was crazy. I received my Playdate (it’s beautiful) and was able to check the app, fix audio recording issues, and do some optimization tweaks (also related to the audio). And that’s not all. Yesterday Pocket Planner appeared in an article on The Verge.

Thank you for buying Pocket Planner. I hope you will have a great time with it.

Features

The application contains the following features:

  • Calendar (read-only for now)

  • Todos

  • Voice Memos

Feedback

If you find any problems, please report them in the comments. Last week, I fixed the broken calendar page in no time, thanks to reports from beta users.

Of course, if you have any suggestions, please also share them in the comments.

What’s next

I’m working on making the calendar even more helpful by adding events. If you have any ideas about what should be next, please share them. There is already a discussion on adding a Rolodex-style contacts list.

I recorded a quick voice memo, but the app crashes and I get this error when I try to play it back.

Thank you for reporting. Jeremy from Playdate Squad discord also found it. It doesn’t happen for me, so I’m working with him to find a reason. Another user said that only some specific memos didn’t work. So probably the next one that you record will be ok. But I’ll let you know when I will fix this (if possible, of course).

Hey, as promised, I’m letting you know that I have fixed this in version 1.1. The first audio file was not saved (and it silently failed) due to no existing memos directory in application data. Unfortunately, this first recording is lost (sorry about that :( ). The subsequent recordings should work as expected. Thank you for reporting!
